A suspect has been arrested at a newly opened liquor establishment for being in possession of Mandrax tablets.
Brixton police recently arrested a suspected drug dealer who had allegedly been in the possession of Mandrax tablets. Mandrax is a popular drug in some communities and is usually sold in tablet-form. Like many drugs, it is highly addictive.
Spokesperson of the police station, Jeanette Backoff, said in a statement, “Reservists of Brixton Police Station arrested the individual after a routine inspection was conducted at a newly opened liquor establishment in Auckland Park.”
The police said they are using this arrest as a warning to those who come to their policing precincts to sell drugs. “Your luck will run out and you will be caught sooner rather than later.”
Members of the community are urged to come forward with drug-related information. Police need residents to alert them to suspected areas of drug dealing so they can make the necessary arrests and bring justice to the area. Backoff said, “We are striving to make this a drug-free community and the only way we can succeed is with the help and assistance of our community.”
